Glenny Cottages
Nether Glenny estates lies facing south on the lower slopes of the Menteith Hills, in the Trossachs of Scotland, and which carries a flock of Scottish Blackface breeding sheep with lambs in spring. The main house and cottages command beautiful views over the Lake of Menteith and surrounding Forth Valley. Adjacent is the Queen Elizabeth Forest which affords delightful walks, including a five mile walk over the hills to Callander. Just below the house is the Lake of Menteith with its historic Inchmahome Priory built in the 12th century, and which can be visited on the main island of the lake.
For those interested in history, the whole area has a great deal to offer with castles and other places of interest to be visited, including the King Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre just outside Stirling on the site of the famous Battle of Bannockburn. Rob Roy McGregor is buried at Balquhidder, 10 miles North of Glenny.
